Call for Papers APEC Forum 2008

This call for papers is intended for administrators and managers of science parks / business

incubators, tenants and prospective tenants of science parks/business incubators, entrepreneurs,

government officials and academics who are interested in submitting a paper.

The Forum Organizing Committee will choose some of the presented papers and edit them into the forum’s proceedings. People whose papers are selected as speeches will enjoy the privilege of free participation of the Forum, in other words, his /her accommodation cost will be covered by the Forum.

The Forum has been designed to achieve the following objectives:
    1.To enhance the exchanges and co-operation among Science Parks and Business Incubators of APEC members.
    2.To enhance the globalisation level of technology-oriented business incubators.
    3.To exchange the successful experience and practice of globalisation in science parks and business incubators.

Main themes of the forum:
    1.Regional Innovation System
    2.Re-innovation of the Mechanism of Business Incubators 
    3.Service Innovation & SMEs Development

Note:
     1.The above topics will be subject to adjustment according to the papers submitted.
    2.Each speaker will deliver a presentation within 30-45 minutes. (including Q&A).
    3.Each speaker should fill in the "Call for Paper Form" and send back to the secretariat when submiting the paper.( Download the form here.)

PROCEDURE

Official Language: English

Anyone interested in presenting a paper must submit a 500 to 800 words abstract proposal to the Secretariat no later than August 15, 2008. Authors whose proposals are selected will be advised by August 20, 2008. Complete texts must be submitted no later than September 10, 2008.

Full papers must be written in MS Word format. The text must be single spaced in 11 point, Times New Roman font with numbered paragraphs and 25 mm left and right margins. Each paper must be accompanied by an abstract of 400 words or less. Notes and references must be placed at the end of the text, which must not exceed 20 pages, including tables and figures. Full papers and summaries must include a title page, a template for which is shown in the sample cover sheet.

Selected papers that cannot be presented orally at the conference due to lack of time will be published in the 2008 Forum Proceedings.

Authors of papers selected for presentation must provide the organizers with authorization to publish and reproduce their work in the 2008 Conference Proceedings.

All authors must sign a declaration confirming their ability to present their papers in English or Chinese at the forum.
